The ANMF (Vic Branch) continues to represent nurses for mothers and children, as well as vaccine nurses, in negotiations with a number of local government councils that are trying to freeze wages, delay negotiations on enterprise agreements or shake up agreements, citing the effects of COVID 19. After the rejection of management`s initial offer, the ASU negotiating team negotiated an agreement that was calculated by the ASU, which allows workers to increase by about 10% over three years without reducing existing conditions.

Wyndham City Council delegates, supported by ASU organizers, negotiated an agreement that sets a new benchmark in the Victorian municipal administration. THE ANMF has successfully negotiated with several local government employers to withdraw its proposals on wage freezes, rollover agreements or delayed negotiations. These include Wyndham City Council, Moira Shire Council and Banyule City Council. The agreement, which is expected to be voted on in the coming weeks, provides that business agreements can be adapted to the needs of some companies. An agreement should be overall better for an employee when compared to the corresponding bonuses or rewards.
